Square Enix freut sich bekannt zu gegeben, dass FOAMSTARS, der neue 4-gegen-4-Online-Schaumparty-Shooter, weltweit am 6. Februar 2024 exklusiv für PlayStation 5 und PlayStation 4 erscheint. Um die Schaumparty mit möglichst vielen Gästen feiern zu können, wird FOAMSTARS ab der Veröffentlichung bis zum 4. März 2024 Teil der monatlichen Spiele auf PlayStation Plus, wodurch alle PlayStation Plus-Abonnenten die Gelegenheit erhalten, das Spiel ohne zusätzliche Kosten herunterzuladen und zu spielen. Alle Spieler:innen, die das in diesem Zeitraum tun, können den Titel in ihrer PlayStation Plus-Bibliothek behalten und weiterspielen, solange sie ein laufendes Abo besitzt. Ab dem 5. März 2024 ist FOAMSTARS für 29,99 € im PlayStation Store erhältlich. Zum Spielen von FOAMSTARS ist ein PlayStation Plus-Abonnement und eine Internetverbindung erforderlich.

Über das Jahr verteilt wird es kostenlose Season-Updates für FOAMSTARS geben. Jede Season bietet eine Auswahl an neuen Erfahrungen, einschließlich Skins, spielbaren Charakteren, Karten und Spielmodi. Außerdem wird in jeder Season ein optionaler Premium-Seasonpass für 5,99 € erhältlich sein. Mit diesem schalten sich Seasonpass-Charaktere und zusätzliche, kosmetische Gegenstände zur jeweiligen Season frei.

Zur Veröffentlichung stehen drei PvP-Mehrspieler-Modi zur Auswahl: Smash the Star, Happy Bath Survival und die vor kurzem präsentierte Rubber Duck Party. In jedem Modus warten drei mit großer Sorgfalt gestaltete Maps darauf, für jedes Match eine einzigartige Kulisse zu bieten und für abwechslungsreichen, strategischen und intensiven Spielspaß zu sorgen. Für zusätzlichen Nervenkitzel wird die Map für jedes Match zufällig ausgewählt.

Eine andere Herausforderung bieten die PvE-Modi Foamstar- und Squad-Missionen, in denen Spieler*innen sich alleine oder im Team gegen zufällige Wellenangriffe behaupten müssen, um Bath Vegas zu verteidigen. In Missionen haben sie außerdem die Möglichkeit, mehr über die FOAMSTARS-Athleten zu erfahren, ihre Fähigkeiten zu verbessern und gemeinsam mit Freunden zu trainieren, bis alle bereit sind, in kompetitiven PvP-Matches die Konkurrenz einzuseifen.

Zu guter Letzt bietet FOAMSTARS noch eine Reihe von Herausforderungen, die das Abschließen verschiedener, schaumiger Aufgaben im Spiel mit neuen spielbaren Charakteren und fetten Erfahrungsboni für den Fortschritt im Seasonpass belohnen.
